HI, I'M HANNAH!
If you're wondering how to say my last name, you aren't alone - the special hint is that the W is pronounced like a V (and yes, it's Polish)! I recently graduated from Indiana University with my BFA in Musical Theatre, a minor in Media and Creative Advertising, and my Pilates Mat Teaching Certification from The Kane School. I moved to New York in September and have been auditioning and figuring out how to balance post-grad life ever since!
I’m from Aurora, Ohio, where the most exciting thing is an outlet mall, so I usually just say I’m from Cleveland, home of the world's largest outdoor chandelier. In college I was known for playing sad milfs (ie Margaret White, Helen Bechdel, The Witch - you get it). I've played the violin since I was in 4th grade and I love doing shows where I get the chance to play my instrument. All of my hobbies are that of an 80 year old woman - I love puzzles, museums, embroidery, bullet journaling, and enjoying a bag of PopSecret Homestyle microwave popcorn at the end of the night. I come from an energetic loud Italian family, which sparked my love for food. I'm an avid Yelp user, a self proclaimed nerd, and I have the sense of humor of a middle aged dad.
I have a passion for storytelling above all things, and I love the process of collaborating with others to tell important stories. I am most moved and excited by theatre that has a strong and meaningful message. I believe theatre is a space for collective catharsis and I love experiencing that both on stage and in the audience. I am passionate about new works, especially those that feature strong and complex female characters. I like to tell stories that challenge people and bring societal issues to light. In college I started exploring directing and writing, and I love challenging myself to approach different facets of theatermaking.
